Modern people are usually very interested in self improvement, but they hardly understand the difference between self-obsess and self improvement. There are cases when personal development plans become too selfish and people use harmful and unethical methods to reach their action plan goals. In order to know more about this difference, you need to learn more on how to avoid becoming unpopular with family and friends.
Self-confidence is something that everyone wants to feel and it is typical for some people. They are as if born with healthy and high self esteem. They usually are individuals that other people admire because of their healthy nervous systems. These people seem to never even doubt how to act or what to say, but there is a chance for the rest of us with a bit of quality improvement on ourselves!
Self confidence and personal growth is something that everyone can attain. Just keep in mind that old Freud's theories do not work any longer and one will not be able to live happy life if blaming someone else for mishaps. On the other hand, phsyco therapy that was the only option a few years ago, is currently also considered to be inefficient. People no longer want to live with their past in order to move ahead. There are other much more effective options that I personally tried and can confidently recommend. Such are meditation, cognitive behavioral therapy, neuro linguistic programs, marathon running, and personal coaching. You can choose whether to do them by yourself or hire a tutor, who will lead you in a personal growth progress.
People of all ages can take advantage of various self improvment programs. Usually teenagers have low self esteem, but it may happen to adults during the midlife crisis or later as well. The good news is that everyone can do something about it, regardless of the reason or age. You don't have to wait until you reach 90 years of age, to fight your self esteem. It would be just too late, so take an action today and learn the differences between healthy personal growth and self obsession and self admiration.
With the photography techniques we have today, we do a lot self portraits and stick them on Facebook or any other place we like. In the old days, and not that long ago, only queens and kings and lords and ladies, could afford a painter to make a nice oil portrait for the front room of the palace. Today we use our iPhone-self-portrait-camera and slap the photo on Facebook in a few seconds. Not even minutes. Is this healthy self esteem? I really want to know.
