All the rehabilitation facilities offer the best treatment options for their patients but each treatment approach has different effectiveness to different people. When searching for a center for substance abuse treatment, the patient must look for a treatment plan that would best suit their needs.

Variety of choices is offered in drug and alcohol treatment centers. The choices can be based on the age of the patient, religious beliefs and gender. The length of drug addiction and the insurance of the patient are also taken into consideration.

Outpatient

An outpatient treatment program is one option of confinement. The patient would attend the treatment 4 or 5 days a week but return home after each treatment. There's a problem with these options because the patient is still surrounded by the temptations on utilizing drugs or drinking alcohol in his or her home environment. This is considered the least efficient method of treating addiction.

Religious Approaches

Religious approach is a new program provided by drug rehabilitation programs to cure drug and alcohol addiction. This treatment depends on religious doctrines for healing and recovery. Bible and Koran are used to teach self-discipline, love for self and forgiveness. Behavioural counseling, group therapy and medications are also used when it is necessary.

Teenage Treatment

Treatment methods to teenagers differ from the usual. It's held as a wilderness camp to change the environment meant for their recovery. Hiking, camping, and survival lessons are designed for the teens to have fun while on the process of recovering. The addiction is replaced with wholesome activities. This is really effective for young adults.

Support Groups

Narcotic Anonymous and Alcoholic Anonymous are some self-help programs that help the addicts pursue with their recovery. Patients meet together to inspire each other by sharing their success stories. These programs are ready to help anyone who suffers alcohol and drug abuse. This is open and free to all abusers around the world.
