7 Reasons To Get Up Each Morning

When you wake up each morning, do you find yourself wondering why you should get up, and not merely spend the entire day curled up in bed? Or do you spring up, eager to face all the challenges and events of the day?

Some people surprisingly see no point in getting up. They are scared of the bad things that might happen, and simply opt to avoid them, rather than face up. They would rather be useless than needed or watch their "dream lives" on television rather than experience and pursue the life they want. These people have resigned themselves to a life of uselessness, and live a day-to-day existence. Their only motivation to get up - to relieve themselves, or to grab a bite.

The go-getters, on the other hand, are not afraid to face possible risks or failures they will encounter within the day. They are living, and not merely existing, alive and not merely breathing, realistic, and not merely dreamers. They know what they want and will pursue it with a determined heart and mind.

The world is waiting for you to brighten its day. You are alive for a particular purpose - and it is your duty to fulfil it. You need to get up and find it, pursue it with determination, and savour the delight of achieving a dream. The world awaits your arrival, and so you must be present to contribute your inputs to help make the day brighter. You will never have your chance to make the world a happier place if you are lying in bed snoring or staring at the ceiling.

Someone you love depends on you. Unless you are a relative-free and friendless person, chances are, someone you love may be relying on you to either put food on the table, make them happy, or to give them a bath. Yes, that would also include your beloved dog, cat or bird - oh and of course, your kids and spouse, too. You wouldn't want them to go hungry or homeless, just because you choose to take residence in your bed 24 hours a day, would you?

You are the answer to someone's prayers. Yes, believe it or not, someone out there has been praying to finally cross paths with you. This person is part of your destiny, someone who is looking to fill a void in his/her life. You are the solution to this person's emptiness. This could be a potential life partner, a business associate, a future friend, or even your neighbourhood sandwich guy (who has been waiting for you to give him his first sale of the day). You will never be the answer to a prayer if you refuse to get up from under the sheets.

Without waking up, you cannot feel love or give love. You will never feel one of the greatest gifts of living. No one on earth can survive without loving someone. Sometimes, this whole love thing is so exciting, that you may not even be aware that someone has loved you for so long from a distance. You are the reason this other person (or pet?) gets up each morning. You are his/her inspiration, and the very motivation for his desire to live. Why let go of the chance of feeling this love? Your pillows certainly can't love or kiss you back!

Because today, you will have the chance to help out someone in need and your help will, in turn, help change his own life. The work you will do today may either help others or inspire them to pursue their dreams. If you can be such a huge impact or inspiration to others, why deprive others the pleasure of your presence? Wake up each day feeling the need to help someone out, and you will be blessed always. Karma dictates that whatever good you do to others will return to you tenfold. Sadly, if you refuse to help out someone (even if you can), you should expect the same level of selfishness from others, should the time come that you need their help.

Because something good will surely happen today, and unless you get up, you will never experience it. You were supposed to win the lottery today, but since you were too lazy to get up and buy a ticket, you never will. You were supposed to be promoted for having 100% attendance, but since you did not get out of bed, someone else got the promotion. You were supposed to bump into an old flame, rekindle the lost memories, and get married in 6 months, but since you are lying in bed, you will be destined to sleep alone in your cold bed for the next few years. The lesson here: unless you get up each day, you will miss all the wonderful opportunities out there waiting fo you. They will not seek you or crawl up into bed with you - they never will, because you were too lazy to open the door (of opportunity).

And even if your day turns out bad, you will always have tomorrow to live a better day. Disappointment and fear are parts of life, but you will always have the chance to turn them into victories and strengths. If today was a bad one, or if it were potentially a dreadful one, staying in bed will not help dodge whatever was destined to happen today. The longer you postpone facing up to your fears, the less time you will have to do something to eradicate these fears - and the longer you will need to live scared and miserable. So get up today, because you never really know if today will be the best day of your life.
