Recently my 6 year old daughter and I made a really entertaining(funny), educational and enlightening video of her learning how to ride her bike..
We called the youtube video:-

The video is all about my 6 year old daughter learning how to ride her bike after she had a 6 month break from riding.
She had a 6 month break from riding her bike because she had a really nasty and painful fall where she hit her chin hard on the concrete after going fast on her bike the very first time she hopped on her bike to learn how to ride… I still cringe when I remember her nasty fall..

So for me this video is all about celebrating Harmonies courage to continue to learn how to ride her bike as she learned to overcome her fear.
And although I've made many mistakes as a parent and will continue to do so… If you are a parent, I hope this video is also an encouragement to you in how to love and help your child overcome fears.. In this case Harmonie Learning How To Ride Her Bike… But it applies to any area of life really with your child or children…
Because even though you don't see Harmonies fear of riding her bike in this video… For 6 months prior to this video… Harmonie wouldn't go near her bike because of her fears of falling off her bike again and hurting herself…
There's a lesson there in life really isn't there…. In how to conquer our fears…

Learning How To Ride Bike - Teach Child Ride Bike * Some How To Ride Bike Success Principles *
Some Principles of Success in Teaching Your Child To Ride A Bike Are:
1.Encouraging your child that they "Can!".. (Focus on the positive)
2.Take a break (if your child has had a fall and is feeling fearful to ride again, then take a break from riding until your child is in a better place to ride again… For example Harmonie had a nasty fall on her bike the first time she was learning.. and so she wasn't in a better place until 6 months later)
3.Make it fun for your child!
4.Celebrate your child's small and big achievements!
5.Motivate your child to ride through offering rewards to them for small and big achievements(eg in Harmonies case I helped motivate her by simply letting her know that after each ride(no matter how good or bad the ride) she would be rewarded with an ice block of her choice just for hopping on her bike..
