5 Ways To Live Your Dreams

Too many people in the world go about their daily lives frustrated and unhappy since they are not living the life they have always dreamed of. It's not a matter of how much wealth you have accumulated, how high your position is, or how big your house is. Heaven knows that these things don't really give happiness if you acquired them by doing things you do not like or enjoy doing.

Fulfilment happens when you do that which makes you truly happy. It may be a non-profitable life of taking care of sick animals, but to an animal lover, this is the fruition of a dream. There's a ton of elation you feel when you rid yourself of the material constraints of a high-paying job that does not interest you, but there's a world of difference when you earn doing seemingly insignificant jobs which are in complete congruence with your dream life. There's no comparison between the two.

So how do you start living the life of your dreams? Here are some pointers to ponder on. These may help you determine what truly makes you happy, and how to prepare yourself towards the road to its achievement.

List your top 5 passions. Think about it - what are the things you are passionate about? What do you love doing? These are the things which are so personally enjoyable to you that make work not seem like a job. List down all of these things, then rank them from most enjoyable to slightly enjoyable. This will be your take-off point. Next, think of how you can earn money by doing the top three on your list. Search the classifieds; ask your associates and friends if they know of someone who is looking for a reliable person doing this type of work. Remember, it is possible to do small work that is within the lines of ALL 3 of your passions. Don't think of monetary values just yet. If money is of top priority to you, then maybe you can retain your current job, and just take on a sideline within the lines of work that you are passionate about. You might find that merely thinking about this is already exciting as it is.

Create a vision. Imagine yourself doing what you love. Clarity of vision is the key to achieving your dream once you've discovered it. Take some time to think about exactly what your dream is, what your dream job would be, how you see yourself doing it, where you are, what you're surrounded by, who you're working with. You are more likely to see your dream come into fruition if you have a clear idea of the dream life you want.

Create a roadmap/plan. The cardinal rule of life is that your dreams remain dreams unless you start taking action towards its fulfillment. If you do not do anything, then you will not achieve anything. Create a plan that will help you get to your dream - even if it's a tedious step-by-step plan, do it, set it. The more detailed it is, the easier it is to accomplish. If you find it hard, do it backwards - start from the fulfilled dream, and slowly work towards the start of the journey.

Get inspired and motivated. To keep yourself revved up, surround yourself with people who will help you and inspire you to make your dream a reality. Avoid the naysayers - they are the one who will kill your dream - if you let them. Remember that there will always be people who will discourage you and tell you that you can't do it. Avoid them, and instead surround yourself with people who will inspire you, things that will motivate you, and thoughts that will uplift you and help you keep your sights on the ultimate goal.

Set some time each day towards its achievement. You can't get to your dream if you don't devote some time each day working towards your dream. This is not the time to procrastinate. Remember, the longer you postpone your dream, the harder it is to get back your motivation. Strike while the iron is hot.

The course of your life will depend on the effort you put in. Blame no one, make no excuses. If you know you aren't happy, then do something to remedy your situation. A life lived in material success but with much emotional and mental frustration is not really a life well-lived. So start now while you still have a chance at living the life of your dreams. In the end, the one who will be happiest is you - and that's the best motivation ever.
