What is the Law of Attraction?
For those not familiar with it, the Law of Attraction is a fundamental Law of the Universe. It is a law that applies particularly to conscious beings and it governs how events unfold in the lives of each and every one of us. No ordinary human being is immune from it.
The Law of Attraction states: We attract whatever we choose to give our attention to - whether wanted or unwanted.
What this means is that most of the time we go through life focusing on problems that need to be solved and in so doing we actually create more problems. A good analogy is that of a magnet, which attracts other similar metal objects from a distance. The magnet does not have to try to attract: it just attracts.
In the same way we attract the likeness of what we are thinking about whether or not we try to. The exception is when we are asleep. If we are thinking about the lack of something, like money, then we attract more scarcity. If we think about something we love, then we attract whatever it is that we love.
The Sub Conscious Mind
The root of this invisible force of attraction is the sub conscious mind. The sub conscious mind is in a sense the magnet that does the attracting. The bit of our minds that gives us our daily awareness, the waking mind if you will, has limited capacity and is used only to sift through the millions of bits of data that, as conscious beings, we receive every second of the waking day. In doing so it uses the five senses to gather the most pertinent data around us and employs basic logic to enable us to negotiate the day safely.
The sub conscious mind on the other hand is by comparison almost infinite in capacity. If has been estimated that the sub conscious mind processes in excess of 40 million pieces of data per second compared with the waking consciousness which processes only around 40 thousand bits of data per second. So, although at any one moment in time we may appear to be fully aware of a particular scene, say a room full of clutter or the scene of a road accident, the sub conscious mind actually takes in a vast amount of additional information that we are not immediately aware of. This explains why people are able to remember minute detail under hypnosis compared to when they are in their normal waking state: because hypnosis accesses the vast store of information in the sub conscious mind.
Embed Your Dreams In The Sub Conscious Mind
Therefore, the key to achieving success and prosperity, if success and prosperity is what you desire, is to programme your sub conscious mind to be in tune with your goals and aspirations. In other words we must influence the magnet that is the subconscious mind to attract the things we desire by making sure it prioritises the information that relates to our desires when processing the vast amount of data it receives every second of the day. In practice this involves the use of the five key components of visualisation to embed our goals in the sub conscious mind and in so doing the sub conscious mind will respond accordingly by attracting the objects of our desire to us in the manner described above. This process uses the techniques of visualisation, reinforced by positive affirmations, to create a series of neurological networks in the brain that drive the goals into the sub conscious mind, which in turn responds by generating the necessary thought patterns to direct us towards our goals.
