Take 100% responsibility for your experience

When you realize that you are 100% responsible for your experiences, you begin to move yourself from the one that is buffeted by life and blown here and there by the winds of the economy, other people's conditional thoughts and actions, the political climate, or anything else external. The good news is that when you command responsibility for your experiences, you give yourself the power to change them. You can only change what you do accept responsibility for. Take 100% of the responsibility, and you can change 100% of your life.

Be conscious of your thoughts from moment to moment.

The basis of how you experience your reality stems directly from your thoughts and beliefs (which is just a thought you automatically think). What you are experiencing in the moment is a result of a series of thoughts from previous moments. If you want to change your experiences in life for the better, you must first change your thoughts from conditional to unconditional. Observe your thoughts in each and every moment and observe your emotional responses to what you experience. Are your thoughts mostly negative? Do you consistently imagine and feel failure or struggle when you think about your goals, or what you say you want? Do you feel dread or fear when you think about having what you say you want or do you feel joy and excitement? It is important to observe yourself with a detached attitude. It's not about making your thoughts right or wrong, but about seeing where you are in the moment and then allowing yourself to be in the joy of knowing where you are so you know the direction you need to move in to have what you say you want. As the saying by Earl Nightengale goes: "You get what you think about most of the time."

When you realize that you are 100% responsible for your experiences, you begin to understand that you can change your experiences through approaching and doing things differently. The more your intention is on doing it differently through love, the more you will notice how you are currently making choices, and what are your dominant thoughts from moment to moment. When you have a habit in place of unconditionally observing your thoughts and emotions, you see where you are making choices and having emotions that may not support what you say that you want.

Plan and program a strategy that will get you to your goal.

Your environment, your schedule and your accountability must be programmed in such a way that all three support you -- long after an emotional high is gone. Write it down

Putting your goal down on paper is more than just memorizing it. You are actually confirming your willingness to make it come true. A written list of goals is an effective reminder of what you need to do. Once you're done, write a good review of your accomplishment. A simple list on a piece of notebook paper is fine, or using a computer program to really jazz it up works just as well. You may want to hang it up somewhere, as a constant reminder to work toward your goals: inside your closet, at the back of your medicine cabinet door or on your bulletin board near your desk.

Share your goals with others

We are far more likely to stick to our plan and reach our goals if we know our friends and family support us. Being part of a team increases our determination, our stamina, and our courage. Caution: Never share your goals with anyone who may ridicule, tease or discourage you! The world is full of doubters and you have no time for them. But, find a support team, a group of cheerleaders, and a coach who will encourage you every step of the way. High achievers count on and work with other winners!

Have a system of evaluation in place

The best way to make sure that you are sticking to your goals, accomplishing them according to your deadlines and determining how realistic they actually are is to evaluate your progress. If a certain obstacle is marring your plan of attack, then edit your goals or strategies so that you can move forward. What is Visualization?

Most people naturally assume visualization to be the formation of pictures in the mind. One conjures up an image of a beach mansion or a sports car or a beautiful partner for a spouse and this indeed would be visualization of, perhaps, a desired object or person. And on the face of it, they are not far wrong. After all, most of the everyday objects we see around us, the beautiful buildings, fancy cars, latest fashions, all began life as a picture in someone's mind.

The Emotional Connection

However, the formation of such pictures in the imagination is not the key to making the Law of Attraction work for anyone engaged in trying to use it to achieve their goals. If that was the case, then blind people, particularly those that have never seen the light of day, would be excluded from taking advantage of this Universal Law to improve their lives.

True visualisation, in the context of the Law off Attraction, requires an emotional connection to be made with the object of desire. It is the use of the imagination to conjure up a feeling or change of emotional state in the individual. Whether through the thought or image of that dream house, or the smell of that perfume, or the sound of that piece of music, the visualisation should produce an emotion in the person desiring the object. This is the secret to understanding how to make the Law of Attraction work for you.

Why Emotion is Important

A basic fact about the Universe is that it is made of energy or vibrations. In other words, everything in the Universe is made of vibrations, including us, humans. Because the Universe is made of vibrations, it also responds to vibrations and a fact that most people do not realise is that the Universe is in tune with the vibrations of our emotions, therefore responds to them. This fact is expressed in the Universal Law of Attraction, which states: "We attract whatever we choose to give our attention to - whether wanted or unwanted." Over the years and centuries, this law has come to be known in various guises such as the biblical quote "As a man thinks in his heart, so is he." Proverbs 23:7 and the more colloquial "What goes round comes round."

Therefore, according to the Law of attraction, whatever emotions you give out, be they negative or positive, the Universe will respond in kind.

Manifesting Abundance

The reason why our emotional energy is connected with the Universe is to do with the sub-conscious mind and to go deeper into this subject would take us beyond the scope of this article. Suffice to say, whether you have been trying for some time to use the Law of Attraction, seemingly without success, or you are just beginning to explore the subject, the key to your success lies in engaging your emotions when thinking about whatever you want to achieve in life. For example, if you want more money, think about how you are going to feel when you have more money. That will change your emotional state and the resulting energy change will put out a call to the Universe for it to respond. Another important aspect of manifesting whatever we desire is to use affirmations to reinforce the emotional energy. The techniques and use of affirmations is something to be covered another day, suffice to say these also should be approached in the correct manner to be effective.

Finally, once you get into visualisation, you should avoid being too impatient, expecting results almost immediately. The laws of nature are so immutable we actually rely on that fact for our daily existence without even thinking about it. We even trust the reliability of the laws of nature to put men on the moon and calculate their place of landing with remarkable accuracy. Is Relapse A Part Of An Addicts Recovery?

Is relapse part of recovery? This is one of the most common misconceptions out there about drug and alcohol treatment.

Relapse is not a part of recovery--at all.

People ask, "Is relapse part of recovery?" because they've heard someone say that it was for them. This usually happens in a group or at a meeting, usually in an effort to help ease the unwarranted shame of someone who recently went back out, failed to drink or use like a normal person, and came back to try to get clean and sober once again.

The worst part is, there is no shame in an addict or alcoholic going back out. That's what addicts and alcoholics do.

That's the thing, though: relapse is the exact opposite of recovery. If a person needs to go back out and test the waters again to be absolutely sure that they are an addict or alcoholic, then so be it. If that improves their chances of staying in recovery and gives them a better idea of where their disease will take them, then it is worth it.

However, no part of getting sober and then going back out and using or drinking has anything to do with recovery itself. There are plenty among us who stay clean and sober after our first meeting or group.

Relapse does not mean we throw in the towel and say "Oh well," and just languish in our disease thinking we are beyond hope.

Is relapse part of recovery? No, but it can be instrumental in attaining long-term recovery afterwards.

With the better understanding and full comprehension of how utterly doomed we are in the face of alcoholism and addiction, we have a hope of a better tomorrow. If we don't have that understanding, though, then it is likely that we will test the waters again. That is where the idea of relapse and recovery having a relationship has a minor twinge of validity.

Think about the last time you drank or used, and then recall the time directly before that. What was the difference between that last run and the run prior? Would you still be clean and sober if you hadn't had that last go of it?

We shouldn't confuse relapse as a part of recovery, though, because you can only learn from your experiences if you survive them. The worst part is that in many cases, addicts and alcoholics don't get that opportunity.

Number one, it makes you realize there are a lot of people who have it worse off than you. And, Number 2, there is nothing like the feeling of giving your time and love to someone who needs it. It's truly a gift you give yourself.

3. Do something physical. Join a gym, go for a walk, take up a sport or play the one you used to. Climb a mountain, ride a horse or take a swim. Go for a bike ride, take a yoga class or learn Tai Chi. It doesn't matter what it is, just do something that gets you up and out.

4. Learn something new. Education broadens your mind, makes you more interesting to talk to and there is a never ending list of new things to learn about. You can go to museums, symphonies, plays, movies, read books on any topic you choose and find out what's going on in the world; in past, present or future. Explore!

5. Know the truth of who you really are. Begin to understand that when everything leaves you what you have left is who you really are. It is what lives inside you; your soul, your spirit. When you can get in touch and tap into the power within you, you will realize that no matter what happens in your life this love, strength and inner wisdom will pull you through any adversity.

Plus, the best part is when you find your true self you can never be lonely again.

Remember, sad things happen to everyone at one time or another. People come and go in our lives. It's all a part of our journey; to learn from and grow from. Just because your relationship is over, doesn't mean your life is over. It's only the beginning of a new chapter so make it a good one.

Who Decides What Kind of Day You Are Going To Have?

The truth is that people who are mad, angry, rude or just plain miserable are really very unhappy on the inside and that's what shows on the outside. These kinds of behaviors have less to do with you and more to do with them. So don't take it personally!

WHO DECIDES?

But beware because they'll have a greater impact on you if YOU let them. If you choose to let it get under your skin and ruin your day, then it's them, not you that rules how you feel today. When you think about it, it's as if you're a puppet on a string. They yank your chain and you react the way they want you to.

Or, you can decide long before you encounter these people or situations that no one is going to take away your joy today. Each morning when you wake up, just make a conscious decision that today, no matter what happens you aren't going to let anyone ruin your day.

Sure you can have that instant thought of, "Why I oughta!" But decide upfront that it's not going to last more than that second. Realize that just because someone else is miserable doesn't mean you have to be right along with them.

When you take control of how you're going to feel and you don't let people and things rock your world; your world will rock!

Just try it. Make a decision right now that for the rest of the day it's going to be a great day and no one or nothing is going to change that. Period!

Intentions through love are not just isolated to your personal or spiritual life, they "do" effect you professionally and organizationally. The difference between projecting negative (anger) or positive (love) in intentions is how they energetically effect your life situations. Clear intentions "is the laser" that cuts through any illusion that holds you/me/anyone back from having our dreams completely fulfilled.

Harnessed clarity transforms everyday choices into laser precise choices and confident decisions. As you think deeply/carefully on your goals, inspiration comes by being honest with yourself and others. Your honesty and clarity brings into existence a laser like focus/results. Decisions originating from clear intentions will produce an endless secession of positive results. The challenge is that sometimes we move so fast we move quickly past "choosing" and feel like we are simply "reacting" to the multitude of stimuli - demands of our personal and/or business/professional life.

Remember, your intention is just the starting point. It is your influence, your strength. It is the point in which everything starts and without exception, by focusing through love it will fulfill all of your needs, whether for money, health, relationships, spiritual awakening, or love. - Do I "truly" have the necessary resources? Our my skills where they need to be, is my money accounts balanced enough to take on something additional, are my contacts/arraignments/agreements with others clear, is my current knowledge enough to make a positive impact?

- Am I willing and able to give our most precious resource, time, to this opportunity/request?

- Am I willing to make the "personal commitment" necessary to be successful and fulfill any necessary demands that may come through this commitment?

Highly successful people use questions like these to live intentionally... do you?

Success comes from never losing sight of the most powerful word of all - choice. The choice is always yours. Success is never accidental, it is always intentional. Choose to live intentionally.

How To Handle Dissappointment

Disappointment can build character and patience if you allow it to. Learning to deal with your disappointments constructively can make you a stronger person in the end. It's easy to get mad, feel sorry, think of giving up… but we all know that these are not the wise ways to deal with failure. A true strong person is not one who is immune from any debilitating feelings, but one who gets up after falling.

Here are some great steps towards handling disappointment. How do you measure up?

Accept.

Denial is very powerful. The first step would be to come to terms with our current predicaments. We should accept the situation for what it is.

Let it out.

One of the hardest things to do in a world where everything is immediate--we are all under external pressure, and time is a scarce resource--is to just let yourself experience a feeling. Human beings are not very good at allowing the experiencing of emotions in full without trying to speed up the process. Allow yourself to feel what you're feeling without any agenda of speeding up the process. Whatever you are feeling is OK. Take some time to just sit with your emotion and experience it without moving to fix or change it. Genuinely experiencing emotions, no matter how painful, is one of the beauties of life. Don't shy away from these moments. Be present in them. And if you need to - talk about it. People may know about our recent let-down but in order to offload some of that emotional baggage. Talk to a close-friend, relative or shrink. Learning to talk about things that have hurt us is a good approach to faster healing.

Let go of any anger.

Unfortunately, when things don't go right it's easy to feel anger towards people, bosses and organizations. Anger is a double-edged sword: it can either fuel your next initiative or it can keep you from moving forward. If you're going to use it as fuel eventually you'll still want to let it go.

Stop the Self-pity

Avoid at all costs the pressure to begin to feel sorry for yourself. The moment you go down this path the harder it is to get out. Feeling sorry for yourself not only immobilizes you, but it also has the potential to open the door for serious levels of depression.

Return to your purpose

Everyone has a purpose in life. If you know what that is, recalibrate your mindset to work from this foundational place. If you know what you're supposed to be doing, it's easier and quicker to get back into step with where you're headed.

Look for a solution or compromise

You can't have your way all the time but sometimes there may be a second option that's agreeable to each party. Take a few deep breaths, relax, and look for the "silver lining." It's possible to find something positive in almost every situation.

Re-evaluate and make changes if necessary

Sometimes when we experience disappointment, it may be a sign that we need to re-examine our priorities. Depending on the degree of disappointment you're facing, you may need to make minor or major changes to your life. Learn to be flexible. Refocusing your attention on your new goals will help you forget about your disappointment.

Don't Give Up

Any person who has had even a small degree of success in life has faced disappointments. Winners simply don't quit. They learn from their failures and disappointments and go on to achieve their goals. You can become your own biggest motivator! Don't underestimate the power of encouraging yourself by saying, "I can do this. I can make it. I will get through this and become a better person!" You don't need to allow disappointment to lower your self-confidence. That's not to say that you need to gloss over your feeling, but you can simply learn how to deal with your disappointments effectively, then move on to bigger and better things.

Twisted Law of Attraction Method

Mathew Dixon just released an amazing new e-book, titled Attracting for Others. It's free. And fun. And eye-opening. I wish I had thought of it. Meanwhile, here's my introduction to his book, which explains why you should go get it right now:

When you want to attract something, what do you typically do?

If you are like most people, you sit and visualize what you want, write affirmations about it, set an intention for it, and hope for the best. If you're smart, you might even take action on the ideas and opportunities that come to you. That's the basic mechanics of the Law of Attraction.

Sometimes you actually attract what you want that way.

Sometimes you don't.

Why not?

Why doesn't it always work?

Why can't you always attract what you declare you want?

I've been teaching for years, through my books and audios, that there is a "missing secret" to the Law of Attraction. Basically, you'll have a tough time attracting what you want if you have counter-intentions in your unconscious mind.

For example, if you say you want to attract money, yet at the same time think money is bad or evil, you will cancel out your own intention.

Why would you attract something you felt was evil?

If you say you want a relationship, but deep down don't believe you are worthy of one, you won't attract your dream person.

Why would you attract someone new if you felt you didn't deserve someone new?

You can see the problem.

What you believe unconsciously is more important than what you believe consciously.

So, what can you do about this snag in the Law of Attraction process?

Mathew Dixon rides to our rescue with an entirely new method. I think it's a little "twisted," but I also know you'll love it.

While everyone else is scrambling to find new ways to attract more for themselves, Mathew quietly created a way to do just that, but with a twist: he found that the more you attract for others, the more you actually attract for yourself.

In other words, while the average manifestation junkie is sitting in a chair, meditating on the new car or sexy partner they want, Mathew is sitting in a chair imagining you already have that new car or sexy partner.

He's focused on your end result, not his.

He's using the Law of Attraction for you.

Why is this important?

His state of mind is at a higher frequency because his intentions are pure and his interference is low.

He can attract what you want faster than you can because he's not emotionally tied up in your end result.

He simply and innocently wants you to have what you desire.

He doesn't have your baggage, or limited belief system.

He doesn't have any stake in you getting what you want, and as a result, he can more clearly, powerfully and effectively make the request for you.

That's why his approach is "twisted."

The "Twist" is he is focused on attracting for others, while most people are only focused on attracting for themselves.

Big difference in perspective, right?

And the grand insight is this: you can attract faster when you do it for others.

You also learn more about the inner dynamics of manifestation when you first do it for others.

You also earn what I call "Good Karma Points" by focusing on others before yourself.

And the more his book spreads around the world, and the more people learn how to attract for others, the more people will be attracting for you, too.

Besides, everyone you see is really a mirror reflection of your inner being, anyway. So when you attract for others, you're really just attracting for the reflected versions of yourself. The cosmic joke is you are attracting for yourself when you "attract for others." The other is you.

But don't worry your mind over that. You don't need to understand it or accept it to make the concept in his book work.

This book is evidence that Mathew's technique is powerful. His stories are riveting and true. I know because a couple of them are about me or people I know. I've seen him create the method, try it, and secretly do it to help people. I also watched him write this book, which he decided to give away.

Again, he's helping you.

The point of his book isn't to make Mathew the "go to" guy when you want to attract something. Don't write him and say, "Attract for ME, Mathew!" That's an easy trap. That's again giving away your power to another.

Rather, the point of this book is for you to start "ATTRACTING FOR OTHERS."

The more you do it, the better you'll feel, the more "in the flow" you'll be, and the higher your level of energy and happiness. You'll love it.

Simply read his wonderful, breezy little book, and follow Mathew's guidelines. They are easy. And fun.

And as you use them, you will learn how to attract more for yourself - by first learning how to attract for others.

What's the Meaning of Your Life? Use Gratitude to Find Out!

Being grateful for things in your life is an important part of being happy. But did you know that gratitude can go a whole lot further than that?

In fact, gratitude can actually help you figure out your life's purpose!

Think about it - if you're not particularly grateful for anything in your life, you probably spend a lot of your time feeling bored, frustrated, or downright empty. Even if there's not something in particular that you feel bad about, you probably just feel somewhat disconnected and aimless.

By taking the time and the effort to appreciate things more (even the little things!), you can actually discover the meaning of your life.

Here's how it works:

1. Gratitude is rooted in your spirit.

The things you're grateful for will depend on your specific personality and mindset. They're the very essence of who you are and who you want to be.

Your spirit is completely authentic. It's not jaded by outside stresses or peer pressure. Instead, it's the part of you that's the most pure. So, by digging deeper into your spirit and discovering exactly what it is you're grateful for, you'll wind up feeling happier and more loving. You'll also be able to express these emotions more easily.

Even if you forget from time to time, your spirit knows what things make you the most happy. By tapping into it, you'll naturally gravitate towards those things.

2. Gratitude reminds you that anything is possible.

Even if your mind tends to be skeptical, your spirit isn't. No matter what happens, it believes in limitless possibilities. No matter what you've ever dreamed of doing, your spirit believes you can achieve it. Even if you don't know exactly how to do it, your spirit believes that you will figure out a way. It's the eternal optimist!

By overlooking gratitude, you're overlooking your spirit. As a result, you wind up listening to that skeptical part of your mind - you know, the part that tells you don't have the time or the talent to go after whatever it is you truly want.

Until you place a bigger emphasis on your spirit (and use gratitude to do it), you'll keep falling short of your dreams!

3. Gratitude helps you focus on the positives.

Wouldn't it be nice to see the good in yourself and everyone around you? The more you focus on gratitude, the more you'll be able to see the positives outweigh the negatives. As a result, you'll have an easier time lifting up yourself. After all, the more positives you see in life, the easier it is to find and fulfill your own purpose.

You can also work wonders for the people you care about!

By being grateful for everyone you encounter, you'll naturally help them just as much as you help yourself. You'll naturally give them more support and encourage them to do more.

Above all else, when you feel grateful for each of your life experiences, you won't be able to help but find a greater meaning in everything you do. No matter how dark things get, if you can focus on what's good, you can maintain a sense of clarity that will help you fight through it.
