Going on a job interview is incredibly nerve wracking. If you get the job, you've potentially landed a long stream of income that may last your entire life, and allow you to build up amazing relationships, perhaps even that one person whom you'll start a family with. The first thing is to realize that you don't have to be perfect. All you have to be is a little bit better than everybody else in the job interview waiting room. If all you do is shed the "what can you do for me" attitude, that may be enough to get you the job.
Another trick is to go on a lot of practice interviews. Apply for jobs that you're overqualified for, just to get some practice of answering those same questions over and over again. But if you've heard the question, "where do you see yourself in five years" several times already, then answering it confidently will be a piece of cake.
Another thing is to be comfortable explaining your best qualities without sounding like you're bragging. Don't worry, this is easy. Just tell a story demonstrating your mad skills. Instead of just saying your punctual, talk about how in your last three jobs you've always won awards for never being late. Another way to blow your own horn without sounding like some blowhard is to quote other people. Instead of saying you work well with other people, say how one of your bosses always told you that you work really well with other people. This will sound a lot more believable.
Also, make sure to ask some intelligent questions. Forget about asking about sick days and health insurance coverage. Ask about the company's plans for the future, and how they plan to increase their market share. This will definitely put you ahead of the crowd.
