Time Management - Less Stress and More Time for You

When you manage your time wisely, there is quality time left for you.

It's like carving a piece of time out of the pie of life especially for you because you deserve it.

When you make the time for you, you are less stressed and therefore a kinder and happier person because you are renewing yourself.

You become more creative and inspired and therefore you are more productive which then equals even more time for you. That's a win-win situation, don't you think?

Before long you are re-arranging your days so that you become a top priority.

How do you manage your time so that this happens? It's simple really.

Think of your day like a pie. Each thing you have to do takes a piece of the pie, if you have twelve things to do then you will have to divide the pie into thirteen pieces because one piece has to be just for you.

Sometimes you may have to let something go during your day so that you can have time for you and what you want to do. If you are anything like me, that's not always easy, but believe me, when you do, you will reap the benefits.

It can be difficult to set aside time for yourself because everything else takes precedence.

I am telling you, you have to believe you are most important on that list of things to do and that you deserve your undivided attention.

When you do have down time, don't spend it thinking about all the things you have to do, rather use this time to give back to you.

Some people like to take a nap, meditate, go for a walk, soak up the sun, read, write, or have a long bath.

Others like activities that are more energetic like going for a run, a bike ride, a vigorous walk, lifting weights or swimming, etc.

Then there are those that like to watch a program, play a game, sew, knit, paint, play an instrument, listen or dance to music.

What's crucial here is not what you are doing during this time, rather what it is bringing to you and through you.

What do you want to receive from this well merited time?

Maybe you would like a little peace and quiet, time to connect to you and/or whatever you believe in, renew your energy or spirit, be energized, listen, or be inspired by and through this devoted time to you.

What you are really saying is, "I'm worth it".

What you are really doing is creating a space to enjoy a little piece of this decadent pie of life.

Savour it. Take pleasure and benefit from this sliver of time; it's all yours.

Answer this, "I'm worth my time because…"

I deserve it
I love myself
I am better because of it
I benefit from this time
I can relax
I enjoy my company and how I spend my time
It's an opportunity for me to listen instead of talk
I am more loving, creative, productive, happier, kinder and inspired because of it
It gives me a chance to let things go and put them back in perspective

Were any of these on your list? Perhaps you had some other ones; if so, that's great.

When you believe you are worth your time, then you will arrange your schedule and tasks the best you can with YOU in mind, rather than everyone and everything else monopolizing it.

Remember your day is like a pie and you deserve a piece of it!

You are worth taking the time to see how you are spending it and making sure there is quality time for you. Use these techniques with insight to find that time.
