Successful Dating Strategies - How to Date and How Not to Date

If you are single, you will know how overwhelming it is to find advice about dating and being single. Who wouldn't want to meet the catch of their dreams? Wouldn't you like to get some dating guidance from a dating "expert" who was actually unmarried? Most of these self-proclaimed experts are married! You know, being single can be hard and lonesome whatever your age, and from time to time it would be good to get some real inspiration from other unmarried people.

It doesn't matter if you are brand new to dating, or if you're an old hand, you still want to hear some relevant advice for the single person. The reality is, there really is no secret for landing Mr or Mrs Right . But what you need to know is there are some important facts that you must remember as you make your way through the dating world.

1. Are you really ready to date at this time? Have some idea about what it is you are hoping to achieve. Be realistic. Know the ride won't always be perfect, but keep your goals in mind.

2. Know who you are, and be that person. Don't go overboard. People like a nice appearance, but appreciate even more a genuine person.

3. Evaluate your dating outcomes vs your time-frame. Be truthful to yourself, if you see yourself married in two years, then tackle dating accordingly. If you are not looking for marriage soon, be sure to be upfront with the people you date.

4. Be confident. Practice doing things that will strengthen the confidence you have. Refrain from talking too sexually on the first date. If this person turns out to be "the one", you'll be glad you earned their respect.

5. Set the right kind of expectations. What are your chances really with this person? Have a realistic idea. When you go out with someone you are giving them your entire package, so make it your best.

6. Think about where you are going to meet new people. Join social groups that you are interested in so you can meet people with common interests.

7. If it's not running smoothly, then don't hesitate to take time out from dating. Take stock and maybe re-evaluate. Look on the bright side and give dating another go.

8. Don't expect your first date to be your perfect companion for life. So enjoy dating for what it is, meeting new people and even making new friends as you go.

9. Don't always be available to the other person. It's exciting to be chased, and people like it. The longer someone is made to chase you and fall for you, the more likely it is that love is going to blossom.

Last, but not least, have a good time. It will add a new dimension to your life. The different types of people you will meet while dating will enrich your life. If you meet the person of your dreams or you don't, appreciate the fact that you've met some great people and you're better for it.
