Army Personnel Prohibited From Consuming Alcohol

Authority figures must avoid being under the influence of alcohol when they're working. Like law enforcement personnel, marine personnel and government authorities, even medical professionals are discouraged from alcohol consumption when they're on duty. The reason behind this is for them to have an ordinary state of mind when they are making decisions. Their decisions can affect the life of those around them. For law enforcement personnel, they should make subtle decisions to save lives. Should they be intoxicated while on duty, they would be unable to think straight.

Army personnel are also highly discouraged from drinking when they are on duty or in the battle field. Alcohol can greatly hinder their common sense and their decision making for that reason giving an advantage for their enemies. Those who are found to be intoxicated while on duty or perhaps in the battle field would either undergo a disciplinary action or be provided help for alcoholics that the soldier requires. Should they continue with their alcohol abuse then the military would likely then put into action a court marshal which will discharge the soldier dishonorably.

There is a very strict rule for law enforcement personnel to stay away from alcohol consumption while they are on duty. Should they be found intoxicated or under the influence of alcohol when on duty they might either face suspension for a couple of weeks or be discharged from the force. Being intoxicated while on duty will tremendously impair their decision making therefore jeopardizing the lives of those around them. Liquor not only impairs their judgment but additionally their physical efficiency and agility making them slow or unresponsive to particular emergency situations that may occur. It is very likely they would even jeopardize their own lives if they come face to face with a dangerous scenario or a suspect.

Government officials also are prohibited from consuming alcohol while they are on duty. A government official intoxicated or under the influence of alcohol isn't a good role model for citizens therefore causing them to lose faith in their government officials and lose their vote over the following election period. Either they would get help for alcoholics or cease their excessive drinking and show the public that they have changed. Not only will government officials make bad decisions when they are intoxicated but they would lose their self-esteem and their public image which makes them lose their voters trust.
