How To Help Yourself By Helping Others

One of the most important things to have in life is a solid self image as well as self confidence. When you've got these two, it's easy to build any skill on top of them. Without them, you can't do much. It's no secret that finding a way to improve these can help you in any area of your life. One of the best hidden secrets of all time is that by helping others, without expecting any kind of immediate reward, you vastly improve your self confidence and self image. In this article, you are going to learn some powerful ways to do that.

Volunteering is a great way to get started. Many places are desperate for people to help out, so when you lend a hand, they'll be grateful. You'll also feel really good about yourself. There are many organizations that are non-profit and are dedicated to helping out children. There are also organizations will help pets that are in need. Since not everybody is good with kids, helping out pets can be a great way to lend a helping hand.

Another great source is the elderly. There are a growing number of lonely folks who simply need somebody to talk to. As a result, there are several organizations that put together people like yourself with some folks that need some attention. All you'll need to do is visit a few people for a chat every now and then. This is an easy way to feel good about yourself.

When you see somebody in need, don't be afraid to ask if they need help. Sure, many people will feel uncomfortable asking for the help of a stranger, but some will feel good knowing that they aren't alone. Simply by asking people, you are doing them a great service. And those that say "yes" to your request will be very happy indeed.

Family members can also be a great source. Ask your family from time if they need help with anything. They are much more likely to say "yes" so you'll have a better opportunity.

Of course, many times you can just help out without asking, or even giving the person you are helping a chance to say "no." These are little things like holding the door open for somebody, giving somebody a random compliment, or helping somebody pick up their bags or other things if they happen to drop them. So long as you don't hang around and wait for a "thank you," this spurious helping of strangers will really make you feel good.

The more you help others, the better you'll feel about yourself. Just look for opportunities. Once you get that good feeling of helping out a complete stranger without even expecting a "thank you," you'll be well on your way to incredibly high self esteem and self confidence.
