It's Not The End Of The World- Control Anxiety Now

Stress occurs in everyone's lives, but it doesn't need to control them. When not handled the right way, these stresses can turn into anxiety. Anxiety puts a strain on your body which can cause further health problems. Continue reading this article to learn more about what stress can do to your health.

Begin your day with a few minutes of positive affirmations. Tell yourself how you want your day to go. Make sure you are using cheerful and motivating words when applying this method. This can help your day go a lot better, which can minimize your anxiety throughout the entire day.

Take control of your emotions. The way you feel can often cause anxiety. Once you have the discipline to control your emotions, you can rid yourself of anxiety. You may have to learn to emotionally detach yourself from feelings to gain control of your emotions and eliminate anxiety for good.

When you start feeling anxious in public, find ways to distract yourself. When in line at the store, start looking at the items hanging near you or the products in your basket. Observe the ceiling, count the number of checkstands, and do anything else you can to preoccupy your mind and keep it from dwelling on anxious thoughts.

Exercise is always a great way to make your anxiety go away. It can really help you deal with anxiety, because exercise releases endorphins. These endorphins promote a healthy and happy mind, which battles your anxiety wonderfully. Exercise in the morning to start your day, is ideal if you can find the time.

Salt cravings can increase when you become anxious; keep this in mind. This is because your body needs salt, so your body is trying to tell you to take some to feel better. The best salt to get is the kind that is unprocessed and raw. This is easier for the body to get digested and allows it to take in more minerals.

Pay attention to your breathing when you feel stressed. While you experience stress, your breathing can get erratic, variable, or shallow. It can be easy to forget how to breathe the right way when dealing with anxiety. However, we do need to consume the right amounts of food, water and air. Focus your attention on proper breathing when you sense an anxiety attack coming on, as much as you are able to.

When you feel your anxiety coming to a head, you can help get the feelings of worry under control by controlling your breathing. When you are anxious, your breathing rate increases, which itself, can cause a heightened sense of fear. Breathe in and out slowly, counting to four on each inhale and exhale. In addition to slowing down your breathing, it also gives you something to focus on besides the source of your anxiety.

A lot of people that have stress and anxiety don't relax enough. Allow time each day for some relaxation time, with a book or magazine. A mere 20 minutes of calming activities daily can help lessen anxiety.
