Rhonda Byrne Reveals "The Power"

My entire day got rearranged when Rhonda Byrne's new book, The Power, arrived. I dropped everything to read it. I have been waiting for her sequel to the global hit movie and book The Secret since 2006. Well, it's finally here.

I've liked Rhonda ever since she first called me in 2005 and invited me to be in "some movie" she wanted to make. She had read my book, The Attractor Factor, and loved it. She said she was creating a movie about the Law of Attraction and wanted me in it.

Would I be interested?

Not really, and not at first.

I had no idea if she were real or not. Many people have wild ideas and big dreams. Most don't take any action, though. But I told her I was open to the idea.

Months later I was filmed for the movie. Months after that the movie was released. The rest, as they say, is history. I've gone on national television because of my role in the movie, been speaking around the world, been invited to star in several other movies, and got new book deals and more, all thanks to Rhonda and The Secret.

I'm grateful. And I've been just as eager for her follow-up book. When I was on the Larry King TV show the second time, years ago, I announced a sequel to the movie. Rhonda had led me to believe one was in the works. Well, we're still waiting. But today the sequel to the book is here.

And it's GREAT.

The Power is about love. In short, when you love anything, you feel different, and you end up attracting more of the same in your life to love. If you can just focus on love, your entire life will blossom.

Yes, The Power is about the Law of Attraction. But the book explains LOA in a practical way. It explains the essence of the Law of Attraction.

Rhonda doesn't quote any of the teachers from The Secret to prove her points. Instead, she quotes from the legends -- Jesus, Buddha, Einstein -- all dead authorities. None can argue with her. And they all seem to say you can have what you want if you practice love. Well, I agree.

It's clear that Rhonda is a fan of Neville Goddard. She quotes him repeatedly. I'm a fan, too, and republished Neville's first book years ago, called At Your Command. Rhonda and I have had at least two dinner conversations where we discussed Neville.

In short, Neville taught that if you can feel what you want as if it were already fact, it would become reality. I've written about Neville in The Attractor Factor and other books, etc. He's a hero of mine. Rhonda loves him, too. His message is an undercurrent throughout her book.

The Power is an upbeat, wise, feel good read. You wouldn't expect anything less from the wizard behind The Secret. I love the book and will re-read it, give it as gifts, and more. I think it will become a New Thought classic.

But I still take issue with Rhonda's stance that you don't really have to take any action to attract what you want.

I was the guy in the movie The Secret stating you needed to act on your ideas. But Rhonda still believes what you want will just come to you if you feel it real. I'm sure for the person who created a movie sweeping the globe, who made over $300,000,000 in sales, and who has been pursued since 2006 for her next projects, that for her it seems like it's all coming her way without effort.

But I also noticed that when The Power was getting close to publication date, that emails from Rhonda started appearing. It seemed as if she was waking up her list before telling them she had a book coming out.

That, to me, is action.

It's also wise marketing.

I've seen things happen seemingly without effort, of course. When I attracted my new Spyker car and wanted to be in Heavy Hitters magazine again, I opened their magazine and was surprised to see myself in it. I hadn't done anything. Yet there I was.

Still, it's been my experience that you need to co-create your life. You are creating in participation with the Divine. You are still needed to do things.

The Heavy Hitters magazine didn't have a photo of me and my Spyker (it was of me and my Rolls-Royce). So I wrote to the editor (note I'm taking inspired action) and showed him pics of my Spyker. He then agreed to run a feature on me and my new car in the next issue.

In short, I had to take action to attract my goal.

Then again, maybe Rhonda is right and I'm just working too hard.

How to Relieve Stress in the Office

If you know how to manage stress at work every day, you may be able to cope better with your personal life's important events. If you feel that everything weighs far too heavily upon you and you have been given far too many taskstalk to your boss so that they may spread the workload more evenly among the rest of the team. Avoid getting stressed at work by working only according to your job description, by doing so, you can go home on time.

Allot Time for Short Breaks

To relieve stress at work, you must be consistent with your short breaks, 10 - 15 minutes at most often will do. If you work long hours, you should take more breaks as you need to stretch your legs and breathe fresh air. Have your lunch outside the office, take a quick run or unwind on the rooftop so that you can avoid a monotonous and boring day. These short breaks can clear up your mind that will allow you to formulate more ideas to apply in your job.

Do not forget to reward yourself when you are able to achieve your goals. This is not just to relieve stress in the office but also to motivate yourself to do more and achieve goals more quickly.

3 Steps to Change - Ready, Willing and Able

We are creatures of habit, and therefore we may forget that we have the ability to change our old patterns, behaviours, and mindsets. Whether it's things from yesterday, a month ago, or a year(s) ago, it is possible to make some changes starting today.

Maybe you have been putting off things until tomorrow that you can do today, or you've been waiting for something to happen before you take the next step(s), or some of your patterns or behaviours are so ingrained that you feel you can't change them.

Perhaps you haven't been taking enough time for yourself or spending time with others, or you've been meaning or attempting to commit to something but you haven't had very much success, or you have been feeling stuck or unsatisfied at work or home.

There maybe something going on for you personally, or there may be someone you need to forgive, or you are holding onto past hurts, resentments, or grievances.

Just about anything, including excuses, can become a deterrent to taking steps forward if you let them. No matter what's going on, or what you are holding onto, or what you aren't doing, it's not too late to make a change!

The question is, "Are you willing to?"

Do you really want to do what you are saying you want to do?

Have you heard the saying, "Ready, willing and able"? This is what you want to ask yourself.

Are you ready to take a step, and it doesn't have to be a gigantic one, towards that which you would like to change?

Are you willing to do what is necessary to move forward even if it's uncomfortable or difficult to do?

Are you able to accept the setbacks, fears, trials and errors, rejections, disappointments, tough conversations, etc., that at first may accompany what you want to change? This can be the tough step and the one that holds you back the most.

Being "able" to accept what's holding you back is exactly what needs to be looked at in order for you to make that move forward again.

You don't have to change anything if you don't want to. But, if you recognize something within you that is stopping your growth, or creating unhappiness in your life/relationships, or something you are complaining about, or you hear yourself saying something repeatedly that you want to do or commit to, then it's time to do something about it, and now is the time.

It may not be easy to change some things, and others may be easier than you think. Either way, you won't know until you try.

What's the worst that can happen? If you try something and it doesn't work, then you have a stepping stone for your next step.

If you really want to change something then you can do it!

If you are willing to do what's required then you will do it!

If you are able to accept that things will be different and maybe even difficult at first, than you are able to do it.

If you are can do all three steps, then you are capable of making a change.

Look over the last month or previous couple of months. What have you been saying or wanting to do and haven't, or what do you want to change about yourself or something in your life?

If there is more than one thing you want to work with, choose the one that you feel is the most important, or you think the most about, or weighs the heaviest on you.

What step(s) can you take to bring about this change?

When you took that step, what happened?

What, if anything, surfaced for you?

What did you learn?

Are there any other steps you need to take next to implement that change further?

Remember, change may not be easy, but you will never know what lies around the next corner if you don't take the step(s) to see. Use these techniques to help you find the insight to assist you in taking the next steps to change and facing what is holding you back, or surfaces, and then using that knowledge as a stepping stone for your next step(s).

Be sure to be specific with your answers as that would help you visualize these things as real.

Next, ask yourself: What do I have to do so as to live life the way I want to?

What actions do I need to take so as to accomplish my goals and objectives?

As you ask yourself these questions, focus on goals you can accomplish in the near future, rather than focusing only on distant goals. However do not expect to achieve instant success. There is no magical formula that can make you successful overnight.

There is no simple road to success. You achieve success through goal setting, good motivation and inspiration, hard work and diligently carrying out your plans. You must also believe that you can accomplish your dreams.

The great American Industrialist Henry Ford stated, "If you believe you can, then you really will, and if you believe you cannot, you cannot".

If you truly believe that you can accomplish your life goals, now is the time for you to plan how you will make your success dreams a reality. Do not let the fear of failure to be the barrier that prevents you from achieving success. With faith, you can achieve anything. But sometimes, you may have to take little steps at a time.

However, this requires a lot of planning. You cannot get what you want by wishing for it. Even if you have a clear vision of what you want to achieve, you must have a good plan in order to succeed.

Goal Setting

Goal setting is extremely important. You may not like the idea of setting goals, however, to achieve success, you have to write down your goals and set dates in which you would like to accomplish each of them.

Do you visualize yourself as a leader? Well, if you want to lead your own company, dreaming about it will not make it happen. It is important that you write your goals down so they become real.

To own my own company in the future, I must do what? This is a good way to start. Now picture yourself leading your own firm someday. How do feel about that?

This is what you want to achieve, your vision, your dream. Now ask yourself, to accomplish my goal, what actions do I need to take today. To own your own business, you will need to write a business plan, acquire business knowledge, obtain financing, decide where your business will be located, register your business name etc. Break down your goals into daily goals, weekly goals and monthly goals. This tactic enables you to accomplish your goal with ease.

You can certainly achieve all that you desire. All you have to do is break down your objectives into manageable chunks and start taking care of things, one day at a time.

Which of these mistakes do you make with the Law of Attraction?

1. Thinking imagining what you want is enough.

2. Trying to attract a specific person.

3. Focusing on the material only.

4. Focusing on the spiritual only.

5. Working with affirmations only.

Truth is, there are many mistakes when it comes to using the Law of Attraction. It's usually because most people don't have a complete understanding of it. They saw the movie The Secret and thought they got it, when all they got was an introduction to it.

So what's the truth?

1. Imagining what you want is a great way to program your unconscious but it's only a first step. You still have work to do. That's where the Law of Right Action comes into play. Do something to assist the attraction of what you want. Rhonda Byrne created the movie The Secret with more than the Law of Attraction; she didn't just sit and dream about it. She took action. (She's taken more action recently, as her next book, The Power, will be out in August.)

2. Trying to attract a specific person is a violation of free will. Your task is to focus on the qualities you want in a person. Then let the Universe bring your match to you. After all, it has about seven billion people (!) to draw from. It's an ego trip to think you have selected the right person for you, when you don't know everyone in the pool.

3. Focusing on the material, in attracting new cars and more cash, is fine, as long as you know it's a temp high and a mask for the real juice of life: the Divine. Don't focus on the car, but on the feeling behind the car. That is Divine. spyker doors up.

4. Focusing on the spiritual or metaphysical often creates a nasty "spiritual ego" that judges everyone else as lacking and needing more meditation, spirituality, etc. It's the worst ego of all. It gets mesmerized by the invisible and overlooks the visible; it judges the material as bad, not realizing that everything is spiritual.

5. Affirmations are one way to plant a new idea in your mind, but affirmations usually don't go deep enough to create change. You need to get into the unconscious mind. To do that you may need deeper work, more clearing, or coaching.

Most people who try to use the Law of Attraction are basically wanting to click their heels together and have their intentions manifest before their eyes. While I believe in magic and miracles, I also know too many people self-sabotage their own desires and deceive themselves; they trick themselves out of their own good.

The goal of life, as I've said many times, is to awaken.

One of the first steps is to awaken to the deeper aspects of the Law of Attraction.

Yes, you can most likely have whatever you can imagine, usually not by thinking about it alone, though, but by adding action, positive belief, and more.

I've covered this at length in recent books, and in recent audio programs, such as The Secret to Attracting Money. I'll be doing it again in my new audio program, where I explain how to move from the Law of Attraction to the Law of Creation.

For now, yes, learn more about the Law of Attraction, but also be sure to actually use the Law of Right Action and do something. Life is a co-creation, which means it needs you to help attract the results you want.

PS - As I mentioned above, Rhonda Byrne is still taking action. Her next book will be out in weeks. I haven't seen it yet but the publisher ordered a first print run of two million copies. That's staggering. Obviously, they expect it to do well. It's called, The Power. And I'm sure Rhonda didn't get it written or published by only thinking about it. She knows "the secret" alright, and it's much more than just the Law of Attraction.

The Practical Visionary

Around 1994 my life was changed by a book called Spiritual Politics.

It helped me see the big picture of global conflicts and gave me an elevated view of what was happening. It delivered a fascinating analysis of the cosmic, karmic and metaphysical reasons behind politics, world affairs and current events.

It revealed that I had to work on myself to make a difference in the outer world. It's a large, detailed, and exhaustive work on the hidden reasons behind the superficial news and talk show bantering. It's all about change as an inside job. I never forgot the book.

Recently the same authors came out with a new book, The Practical Visionary: A New World Guide to Spiritual Growth and Social Change. I was so eager to read this one that I bought the Kindle edition from Amazon and instantly started reading it on my iPad. I liked what I saw so much that I went back to Amazon and bought copies of the paperback to give as gifts. I then reached out to the authors, Corinne McLaughlin and Gordon Davidson, to interview them.

The Practical Visionary offers overwhelming proof that every social problem you can name is being addressed by some person or group. There are entire chapters stuffed with resources. It does the soul good to see so much being done in the world to move us forward to unity. In a time when the mainstream media rarely nods in the direction of the good deeds people are doing, seeing all this evidence for the positive is wonderful.

None of this is to say you or I are off the hook. We can't let others solve all the problems we see. We have work to do. But the best way to do it is to align with your connection to the Universe and do what's right for you. As you do what you are called to do, you become The Practical Visionary.

Besides all the resources, wisdom, and optimism in the book, another reason I love it are the meditations in it. Early on there is a vivid one about pretending to turn an inner knob to raise the vibration of your energy until it matches that of Spirit. I was a little tired as I began the meditation, but just imagining playing with an inner frequency dial that raised my energy actually did raise it. Nice.

The Practical Visionary reveals eight keys for transforming yourself and the world. It's not an either-or approach. As you work on yourself, you work on the world; as you work on the world, you work on yourself.

1. Shift from what's dying to what's being born: discover the new world of practical visionaries all around you;

2. Understand the big picture and the higher evolutionary plan: find your part and get engaged;

3. Make your livelihood a social change strategy: be a spiritual warrior, an innovator, a reformer and/or an exemplar;

4. Invoke the magic of your soul: explore the new world within you and make friends with your subconscious;

5. Turn within to find a source of spiritual strength: develop a regular meditative practice to receive clear guidance;

6. Clarify your higher purpose and vision: create a mission, practical strategy and right timing;

7. See money as a spiritual asset: trust in the abundance of the universe--and be practical and wise;

8. Transform duality and conflict into a higher synthesis: find common ground personally and politically to change the world.

The Practical Visionary is a mind-expanding and soul-enriching book that helps move you into a new paradigm. You might even call it The Abundance Paradigm. :)
